What started as two friends roasting coffee in a Bushwick warehouse has grown into a community of producers, baristas, and coffee lovers united by a passion for exceptional coffee.
Our Journey
The Beginning
Maya Chen and Diego Ortiz founded Roast & Ritual in a converted warehouse space in Bushwick, roasting on a vintage Probat roaster.
First Direct Trade
Traveled to Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe region to establish our first direct trade relationship with the Worka Cooperative.
The Roastery Opens
Opened our roastery and tasting room to the public, offering cuppings every Saturday and coffee education workshops.
Sustainability Milestone
Achieved B Corp certification and launched our carbon-neutral shipping program for all subscription orders.
